So, the internets mended themselves last night. But then we had no electricity. This was due to the hall light switch that decided to set itself on fire a little bit when I turned it off. It made a very pretty blue glow behind the plastic and some lovely black smoke. My dad seemed to think it would probably sort itself out and besides, he didn't want to eat his dinner in the dark. I, on the other hand, didn't want to burn to death in my bed. After some poking about in the wires (with the power turned off) we concluded that we didn't know anything about wiring and the fact it had burned a small hole through all the thingamabobs at the back of the switch wasn't very promising. So we had the electricity off.
Trying to get ready this morning was fun without any hot water or proper lights. Plus, Bean (the cat) thinks that torch beams are tremendous fun to chase which makes negotiating through the house with a torch just that bit more treacherous, although rather exciting for Bean.
I'm hoping that dad has got some new light switches this afternoon so we can attempt to put them on this evening.
So still no Peacekeeper Wars part two. Pants.
On the good side, the dog didn't poo on the carpet last night like she did on Wednesday night.
