I was down in London at the end of the week for a completely thrilling training course for work. I think I did admirably in not falling asleep and drooling even once during the course of the two days.

I was staying at the hotel where the course was (a posh hotel in South Kensington) and was given a free upgrade to a suite, so got what was in effect a small apartment for two nights with dressing gown and slippers and two TVs. Very bizarre. I actually had a great time because on Thursday night I met up for dinner with my friend from school who lives in London. On the way back to the tube station at Piccadilly Circus I happened to pop into Virgin Megastore at quarter to ten at night (after a few drinks I might add) and came out with Life on Mars season one and Green Wing season two. Oooops. Like drunk internet shopping IRL.

Yesterday afternoon the course finished really early so I had time to go to the Natural History Museum for an hour and a half as it was only a ten minute walk from the hotel. I've never been before so wandered around the dinosaur exhibition taking photos on my mobile phone like a tourist (which I was). I've never seen fossilised dinosaur skin before! I just wish I'd had more time to look around. Even the building itself is amazing.

Fossilised skin - it looks even more cool on this photo because of the slightly green light that's tinting it:
