DOOM

I've just been re-reading some old Sirius/Remus fic and I'd forgotten how genuinely funny some of them are. I know you're supposed to claim that you don't care for the popular trends but I really did love the style that a lot of those fics had. I don't know whether it's the knowledge of impending death and doom and heartbreak, but I could never resist the lighthearted stories that take place before Peter's betrayal. They all have such a bittersweet edge when you know what's coming: doom, death, betrayal and doom with a hint of regret and pain. I think that's why I liked Clark/Lex back in the day as well.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] lonelybrit made me read a Top Gear fic today involving Top Gear Squid and Boris Johnson. o_0 I'm not sure whether I should feel dirty or not.
