I loved the first Bad Boy's film, but I had no desire to see the second until I read this bit in Empire magazine today:

Boys on Boys...?

Sure there's ample love interest for Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys 2 But there's no doubting that in an ideal world, officers Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett might only have eyes for each other. Bad Boys 2 doesn't attempt to hide the, ahem, deep and lasting bond between our two heroes. So much so, in fact, that we had to ask the two stars about it. With rather contrasting results...

Empire (to Martin): The film's a bit homoerotc isn't it? Is there a part of you that secretly fancies Will?
Lawrence: Fuck you, I like bitches! Man, I don't even play that game, homie! I love the ladies too much. There ain't nothing a hairy-ass man could do for me.
Empire: Will's got a hairy ass then?
Lawrence: I don't know! I don't know if he's got a hairy ass - I ain't seen it but there really is nothing that man could do for me.

Empire (to Will): Martin tells us he doesn't fancy you...
Smith: Really? You know, we didn't think we were making a homoerotic movie but I guess we were. He's a very sexy guy. Who knows, if I was gay and he was gay and neither of us was married, then it could happen. Personally? I would.

Awww, I've always loved Will Smith ever since his days as the Fresh Prince. The films probably a big pile of wank but I'm intrigued now. And plus, if it's shit, I can just look at Will Smith!

Eh, that's cool. The last time I saw an article mentioning Will Smith's attitude to homosexuality it was about Six Degrees of Separation and it was how he'd insisted the shot of him kissing the guy be re-filmed so it'd be obvious there was no tongue. It's good to see a guy can change. I'm liking him a lot better now.

Yeah, I like Will Smith so I'm glad he seems to be okay with it now as I don't want to not like him, if you see what I mean!
