I am the stupid

Do you know that I haven't gathered another fic reading fandom since Harry Potter in June? This is pretty good going for me seeing as I am such a fandom whore. I've started watching some new shows but I've not really felt inspired to read fic in any of them. In fact it's been nearly solid Sirius/Remus and the Maurauders for me since the summer. I feel all monogamous.

I was sitting in my dressing gown watching Atlantis, as one does on a Tuesday evening, and during a conversation with my mother on whether Daniel or Sheppard is the hottest, I managed to scratch a lump of skin off my knee and it's still bleeding. Doh. Oh, and my choice was Sheppard I'm afraid. Sorry Daniel.

Another stupid thing I have done this week is take my inhaler after it had been in my pocket at the field, causing me to inhale a lung-full of small pieces of straw. I kept finding it in my teeth. Not my brightest moment

Work was okay today, although I'm not sure what the hell I was pratting around at in the last few weeks before Christmas. I think it's going to take me all week to sort everything out.

ETA: I opened my Secret Santa present at work today (I was off when they were given out). I got a tiny bottle of Bailey's and a glass. Not bad considering my boss got a leopard skin print thong. o_0 That really is an image I do not need. *scrubs brain*

McKay! McKay is the hottest!

You don't get to vote unless you claw yourself in excitement at the same time - I hear that's what the cool kids are doing nowadays. Rodney did get an honourable mention for third place in the Stargate hottness stakes of course although not when he's wet...

[identity profile] maryavatar.livejournal.com 2005-01-04 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh God, no. Not when he's wet. Ick. But when he's being pissy, snarky or reluctantly heroic... *gurgle*

[identity profile] odycee.livejournal.com 2005-01-04 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmmmm... snarky McKay. That's my favourite. He also gets plus points for pushing small children over and then reluctantly befriending them.

I agree with your icon. Yes please.

Heh hehe. That's pretty much my own reation to children too.

And you can never have too many science nerds.

There was one shot of Rodney today that had my jaw dropping at his hotness - just when the glowy bug (or as I called it, Tinkerbell) came along for the first time and he's looking up all squinty and hot hot hot in that blue t-shirt. I might need a blue t-shirt icon.

Of course, Sheppard did his oh-so-hot wearing-helicopter-shades-in-the-desert thing. They should invent an Emmy for that and give it to him every year, except for a few when RDA should get it.

I love that ep. [livejournal.com profile] rivier burned me the first 15 eps onto DVD, and that one was just. so. slashy.

[identity profile] odycee.livejournal.com 2005-01-04 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
He does look very, very hot in that scene with Tinkerbell (as I also called it). He looks very good in that blue t-shirt.

yes Shep is definitely the hottest. ever. So good to watch. (though I must agree with the other commenter (whose name I forgot to write down) that reluctant Hero!McKay is sexy) I can't believe it's another two weeks here til new episodes. I hate waiting, and I'm dying for new Atlantis.

[identity profile] odycee.livejournal.com 2005-01-06 12:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Reluctant hero!McKay is great. I'm seriously lacking in Atlantis icons. Maybe that can be my mission for tonight...

I forget that you have breaks in the middle of seasons - that's why a lot of the time we in the UK end up getting the end of the season before you. Having to wait for Lost to come back on has been killing me. I hope it's downloaded by the time I get home from work!

You know, you're the reason I read any HP -- especially Sirius/Remus and Maurauders stuff.

[identity profile] odycee.livejournal.com 2005-01-05 01:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. Glad to be spreading the love. I always swore I would never get into the HP fandom. Then again, I once took a stance against RPS...

I could never marry HP fandom. The fans are insane and I'm not *that* monogamous.

Yes. Alcohol brightens any situation ten-fold.

my hed is pastede on yay!

[identity profile] odycee.livejournal.com 2005-01-06 12:31 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a close one - I think I'll call a tie. Lotrippers are definitely crazy, but the HP fandom is full of illiterate teenies flaming each other into oblivion and writing the most awful fic I have ever, ever seen. At least the tinhats are better spellers.

Hmmm... after careful consideration, I think the difference is that Lotrips has entertaining wank (my hed is pastede on yay) but HP wank makes me want to slap people and claw my own eyes out.
