Various people on my f-list have linked to this lovely essay on what about Harry Potter has captured so many people: an advertisement for Harry Potter. Go and read it.

Off to watch SG-1 and Atlantis now and try and ignore the fact that I still haven't done my CV...

ETA: Oooh, that worked. Looks like my journal is up again and I can post. My cluster keeps going down.

What did you think of Atlantis? I am always entertained by it, though saddened by the lack of Sheppard/McKay. I thought at the start there would be lots of Sheppard/Teyla and was about to throw things at the screen, but then he didn't say a word to her and seemed determined to leave the room as fast as possible. Phew!

At least Teyla changed her outfit. They appear to have mixed up their costume department with that of Xena, but it was a fetching outfit, as long as she in no way uses it to seduce the ranking military officer on the base.

I too was saddened by the lack of Sheppard/McKay but it was compensated for by McKay's dying speech. <3 I was also glad to see lots of the Russian guy (who I can't be bothered to look up the spelling of his name) and Carson.

You pretty much had the same reaction as me when I thought that Sheppard and Teyla were going to be trapped in that room together all episode. But we were saved by Sheppard's disregard for the command structure. Luckily. There was some nice Sheppard/Weir friction too.

It was a rather fetching outfit although probably not that suited for combat - I think it was just a tad too long...
