The Veritas party and Mr Tangerine Man Tribute to Kilroy Silk. Utter genius.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] niannah's SPACE HOLIDAY poll! Heh. I'm going on a bargain hunting holiday with Steve the Wraith.

Off to put the horses in now. I want to sleep.

ETA: Work pissed me off today and now I'm feeling annoyed with the debate about wind farms. From what I can see, the two sides of the argument are as follows.

For wind farms: the planet is fucked and we need to do something fast. Turbines are a good renewable energy source.
Against wind farms: they spoil the view and sometimes mess with TV signals if placed wrongly. People should use energy saving lightbulbs.

Erm... WTF? Why is anybody even listening to the campaign against them? Fuck you David Bellamy.

The thing is, as well -- I love wind turbines. They're really pretty!! I'd love if it I could watch a wind farm from my window.

They are very cool! There's two where my mum works and she's got some gorgeous photos of them with the sun coming up behind them.

The only argument against them that bothers me is that they kill birds. I've never lived anywhere that wasn't on a major migratory route, and the high windy hills where turbines should go are where the hawks fly.

That is one of the valid concerns that I have as well (and would probably have added it to my post had I not been speed posting!). The RSPB are doing quite a lot to make sure that the goverment takes migratory routes etc into account and I support them in that. But as they say, climate change is the most serious long-term threat to wildlife in the UK and globally.
