odycee: (Random - flamingos!)

(no subject)

No comedy injuries this weekend, although Oscar did bite Troy's owner's boyfriend because he dared to stroke Oscar's head. Foolish boy, Oscar is not a horse that enjoys being petted in the field. Not unless there's food involved anyway.

I still maintain that my new wet to straight hair straighteners are the best thing. Ever. At the moment I have hair that looks like it belongs to someone who has good hair. Amazing. Though I think half the magical power of the straighteners comes from watching Quantum Leap while I use them. I don't think I could achieve the same effect if I wasn't accompanied by Sam Beckett putting things right that once went wrong.

Look - I have that all essential item now - an icon that involves flamingoes!

I am totally happy to repeat phone as well. As soon as one of us gets tickets, we text the other. It's only fair we both try!

Reckon [livejournal.com profile] emony would like to come?

Coolness.

I hope she does! It just wouldn't be the same without our seasoned conventioning expert.

I just left a comment asking her. It's in the Thistle! WOE.

Aaaargh! Though as long as it doesn't take 3485739 hours to check in again (and we get two beds!!) I won't mind too much. I liked the layout a lot better than the Radisson. Oh - and as long as we can get breakfast within a reasonable time! I'll stop thinking of bad things now.

Hopefully they've learned about the check in thing. Hey, maybe our rooms will be cleaned on time this time? That would be novel.

I preferred the layout in the Thistle, and possibly also the heating system, but on every other count the Radisson is 1 million times better. Although in both hotels the corridors go on forever.

Yes, the heating system was great in that it didn't systematically freeze or stifle you but there's a distinct lack of plastic fish and that's what I look for in my accomodation.

Although in both hotels the corridors go on forever.

Especially after a few drinks...

£85 - but it's so far away that we can save for it no problem! *puts on convincing face* You know you want to!

We must do something

Oh definitely. I think we ought to do something this year too - Feb 07 is an entire year away!

[identity profile] odycee.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 09:27 am (UTC)(link)
Were you still thinking of going to [livejournal.com profile] connotations?

[identity profile] niennah.livejournal.com 2006-02-06 10:45 am (UTC)(link)
You know, [livejournal.com profile] connotations would be great for my eventual thesis (fingers crossed and all that) but I'm not sure I can afford 2 cons in a year when I'll be living off dirt and selling my body to pay my rent. Or else living at home in a stupor of depression. Even though Connotations will be cheaper by far than a normal con, I assume. I'd definitely have to do the maths.

And really, given the options, even the merest possibility of Momoa, Flanigan, Hewlett et al wins every time!

My fingers are definitely crossed! Cons are an expensive business aren't they but if I win the lottery between now and then I'll pay for you to come over!

living off dirt and selling my body to pay my rent

But surely it's worth it so you can see me and Em? ;) I hear dirt casserole is quite tasty.
