hmmmm...
I had my hair cut and highlighted today. I haven't had it highlighted for about four years and I'd forgotten how much I like it like this. I've also got a fringe type thing - I haven't had a fringe since before the advent of hair straighteners so hopefully it'll turn out a bit better that it did then.
The hairdresser was making inane conversation with me and asked if I had any children. I said 'no, there's just me' and she said 'just you?' in a incredulous pitying way and then proceeded to ask me if it was difficult living by myself. How do you answer that? I just told her I liked my own company and was quite happy living by myself thank you. Looks like I'm getting to the age where people are going to start pitying me and thinking me strange for not having a significant other and/or a family. I'm not that old!! When I think about people at work who are my age, nearly all are married or living with someone. I'm happy by myself but I can't say that I relish the thought of others pitying me for it.
But then I came home and admired my new hair and watched Doctor Who and felt much better!

If people can't handle you being single that's their problem.
