Scabby horses

Oh my god. Tomorrow is June. How the hell is it June? I'm sure it's still March.

Last Smallville of the series today. I'm a little traumatized after that episode. Lionels hair! The penultimate episode of Angel tomorrow. :( And I think it's the last Enterprise of the series next week (not that I really care). There'll be nothing on! Apart from 24. But I'm really not that bothered about that. I want to go and see Harry Potter at some point this week.

I rode Oscar yesterday. He seemed ok. He's absolutely fine on the straight but feels a little off on a circle. He's also covered in pussy scabs. He always gets a reaction to bites in the summer but usually it's just a lump with maybe a little scab on. This year they are large scabs which have been weeping. I had a fun 10 minutes yesterday picking all the scabs off and cleaning them and then covering him in wound powder. Now he looks kind of moth eaten but no longer has weeping nasty bits.

I'm thinking about selling Champ's saddle and rug and other bits and bobs. It's nearly seven months since he died now. His rug was brand new and we didn't have his saddle long. It's difficult getting rid of his things though.

Mum had an interview on Friday for a park rangers job and they phoned her that afternoon to say she'd got it. I'm really proud of her. It's nearly two years since her school closed and she took early retirement. Since then she's done this conservation course (her final exam next week) and got a job. It will be a lovely change for her to have a job that she enjoys again.
