niannah's rec. It's a really good book and I picked up a really cheap used copy off amazon that was published in 1965. What's really entertaining though are the little adverts in the back for other books. One of my favourites is:
Unfortunately you can't buy it from amazon. I looked.
The best title award goes to: Many Slippery Errors. And there's also one about a reluctant 'friendship' between two seamen.
In other news, I think I'm making a break-through with my Mal icon!

I'm just over half way through now. I haven't been able to put it down. I know what you mean about the gold mines now - how dreadful.
Three and sixpence is a right bargain for that book! 'Special' Friendships. Fantastic.
