Dear god. I just found myself reading Potter fic - Sirius/Remus to be exact. This is how my Lotrips obsession started. Me and my stupid bandwaggon jumping. I must not gather another fandom...
Porny goodness pulls me in everytime. Damn my lack of will power. I think I commented in Niannah's journal a week or so ago that I was resisting the lure of the S/R fic, but I ask you, who am I to resist recs that turn up on my own flist? It would be rude not to look really.
HP was the first fandom in which I wrote fic. It's got a special place in my heart. :D But it's frustrating, as it's got such a high amount of utter crap-quality stories.
Really? I always like finding out which were peoples first fandoms!
I can imagine the crap factor is very high. I can never be bothered trawling through archives though (fanfiction.net makes my eyes bleed) - my best friend is a nice, handy page of recs.
Join us! It's a wonderful place to be :D Those two you read were mmmmm good, and I can throw more your way if you want. I think S/R is the best way to get into fandom, because it's so true, hee! If you want more, do you want more like that, or just general S/R?
The other thing I will add my complete recommendation for is copperbadge's Stealing Harry and it's sequels The River House, and Laocoon's Children (both of those are WIPs, however). It's 'official summary is 'What would happen if Lucius Malfoy got to Peter before Sirius did? And if Sirius followed his godson, forbidden to do more than watch him from a distance? Until, one day, Harry found Padfoot... Meet an eight-year-old Harry Potter, a Sirius Black who never went to Azkaban, a Remus Lupin with a steady income, a Severus Snape who can't help liking his archnemesis' son, and a Peter Pettigrew who thinks he could be the next Voldemort...' I consider it to possibly be the most addictive fanfic ever. In fact anything by copperbadge is excellent :D
I'm pretty sure that will keep you occupied *whistles*
Bwahahaha! They're all falling one by one. Seriously, you're around number 10 on my friends list in three weeks who succumbed to the Dark Side. That amuses me. ;)
Personally I've fallen in love with fanon!Draco. Mmmmh.
Oh God yes, if you're in any way inclined to Harry/Draco, 'Irrestible Poison' and 'A Thousand Beautiful Things' are two wonderful places to start. Hee, I really must re-read IP actually....
If you haven't already been given the link or found it yourself, Underwater Light and Dark Side of Light by Maya are especially good. I adore her Draco.
