I'm very tired so I'm off to bed in a minute.
I had a lovely day at work today. It was my last official day - although they've asked me to come in a few days next week and the week after. When I got there they'd left a bean-bag frog on my keyboard which was pretty cute and I was pleased that they'd got me a present. At about quarter past three everyone in the department (about 10 or so people) converged on my desk. My manager gave a little speech that she had obviously spent a while writing as she was looking at a piece of paper. I went incredibly red and tried to sink into my chair. It was such a nice speech. Then they gave me some presents that I had to unwrap while everyone was watching - some Marks and Sparks posh chocolates, a book - Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything (which I actually nearly bought the other week) and a lovely watch from Next. And a card that everyone had signed. I didn't know what to say really! I think I had red ears for about an hour afterwards! I know I bitched about my job and canal boat man, but it isn't a bad place to work really. It's not what I want to do, but it was better than most random jobs that I've done - although I won't miss canal boat man!
