Shaun of the Dead and the warm fuzzies

I was forced to buy Shaun of the Dead yesterday by the invisible shopping monster. Best. Film. Ever. Well, perhaps not the best film ever but it was damn good. How can you not love a film that features people bashing a zombie's head in to the soundtrack of Queen's 'Can't Stop Me Now'? Ah, Simon Pegg, how I love thee. Actors from Spaced, Black Books and The Office. Fabulous.

I know there's not many Sirius/Remus shippers on my flist, but I have to rec this fic. I think [livejournal.com profile] anniesj recced it last week and I only just got round to reading it.
The Arrangement  by [livejournal.com profile] maybethemoon. The summary given is: Sirius isn't gay. Neither is Remus. They just happen to be sleeping together a lot. It actually mentions homophobia which is skirted round in a lot of slash fic. The real reason for reccing this though is that it gave me the warm fuzzies.

God, I'm a right girl this week. Squeeing over baaaaaaaby otters and fics that give me the warm fuzzies. Does watching a comedy zombie film cancel that out?

Sadly no. After all, it is a *romantic* comedy (with zombies) after all. Your classic boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy saves girl from plague of flesh-eating monsters story. Sorry. ;)

Bugger. I knew it. Stupid RomComZom. I am sentenced to girlyness forever. I'll even use this icon that's so cute it's rather nauseating.

I read that one, and loved it. You can always trust [livejournal.com profile] anniesj to rec the best stuff.

Indeed you can! :)

Hee that fic *was* good wasn't it?

AS for the girlyness -- you should be proud :D Despite the fact that I can be extremely un-girly etc, I still like it when I am - it's fun! Plus you can use it to con boys into doing things for you :)

Hmmm, good point. The being short thing usually helps with that too...

So. Yesterday I accidentally surfed by play.com, and then accidentally clicked on Shaun of the Dead and it accidentally ended up in my shopping basket. Then I accidentally paid for it with my credit card which was accidentally lying on my desk, then I accidentally squeed with joy and happiness, because I haven't laughed so much at the cinema in a long, long time.

I've met Simon Pegg. He was very funny.

Accidents like that happen to me all the time. It's amazing really. It's like that time when I tripped over onto the keyboard whilst holding my credit card and accidentally bought this laptop. Tragic.

Last night I dreamed that the world was ending, and Simon Pegg gave me a miniature guitar. There is a chance I've watched that movie too many times.

Everyone needs a miniature guitar. And I firmly believe that you can't ever watch a film too many times.
