A comment from someone in a debate about banning fox hunting (a topic I won't go into) on the BBC website:

Hands off the countryside. We have hunted since our conception either foxes, dinosaurs, people. Why stop now?

I think he might be slightly confused about how long humans have been around. Or maybe he has some information that no one else does...

Why don't I have a dinosaur icon?

That's a fun argument.

"We have a tradition of slavery, therefore slavery should continue."

You can put pretty much anything in there.

"We have a tradition of cheeseburgers, therefore cheeseburgers should continue."

"We have a tradition of socks, therefore socks should continue."

I'd like to make that a part of every journal entry I write.
