Insect spam

I haven't gone to bed yet... I was randomly trawling friendsfriends when I came upon a picture of Dominic Monaghan and a leaf mantis. It reminded me somewhat of a picture of myself.

Here's Dominic Monaghan with his pet leaf mantis Gizmo (borrowed from [livejournal.com profile] kiltsandlollies journal).

dom and mantis

And here's me looking decidedly less pretty with a random grasshopper that jumped on my specs while I was somewhere in New Zealand earlier this year. Thanks to my friend A for the lovely photography.

Aren't you all glad I shared that with you...

lmao, those are both great! You and Dom with your absurd insects. ^_^

He looks so funny, really serious, with this mantis on his finger, lol.

Absurd insects are what it's all about. At least mine isn't a pet...

Perhaps he was going for the 'look how weird and cool I am' thing. Just like myself. Yup that's me. Weird *and* cool. Or not. I make no sense. Go to bed Cee.

Those two pics are quite possibly the scariest things ever; I fear I may be scarred for life.

Yay! I scarred someone for life! Though it's not my fault you recklessly disregarded my cut warning. I knew some would be traumatised by the hideous close up...

[identity profile] fabricatedvoice.livejournal.com 2003-12-30 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't disregard, I just didn't think it would be so Right There In Front of Me, you know?

*hugs* Sorry for the trauma. In real life people generally have a chance to run away long before they get that close to me.

Love that icon by the way! Poor Andrew.

*bonk*

It wasn't you I freaked over, it was the hideous many legged bug of doom that had taken over your face.

Bugs frighten me.

A lot.

And thanks, about the icon. :)

Meep! I'd be running around screaming "BUG! BUG! WAAAH" if it was crawling on my glasses! Not that I wear glasses, but still. Bugs do not belong on faces.

Heh. It jumped on shoulder first and I was like 'oh look, a large grasshopper on my shoulder'. Then it made it's move onto my glasses. All in all, I think preferred it on my shoulder. Kind of like a parrot but with more legs and antennae and less feathers.

Like a really strange pirate. Or a crazy one, perhaps.

That's a gorgeous mantis in the top picture, btw -- I don't think I've ever seen one quite that color before.
