I watched the Supernatural finale yesterday. I've watched the whole series in about two weeks! Thanks again for being my dealer, [livejournal.com profile] niannah!

I didn't expect to like this show as much as I do. It is very formulaic - salt and burn the bones! destroy the doll/crucifix/black altar! holy water! sam and dean look hot! ;) but there's enough of a twist and intriguing plot arc that I can forgive that. It's never going to be The Best Show EVER! but neither is SGA and I <3 that too.

But the finale - wow. That is most definitely a cliffhanger! I guessed that John Winchester was possessed but did not expect that lorry to squish them at the end! Awesome! Very good job of lulling you into a false sense of security. I suspect that Sam and Dean at least aren't going to be dead because then there would be no TV show but it will be interesting to see how they get out of it.

And Sebastian Spence was The Nasty Demon's son! I suspect that there's not many folk who watched First Wave back in the late nineties but I did and thus I know that he is hot and should be on TV way more than the guest spots he has in stuff now. I think the last thing I saw him in was BSG.

In other news, I hurt all over because I spent the best part of yesterday at the field doing more ragwort spraying. And damn, it was too hot for that. Unfortunately I had my watch on while I was doing it and now I've got a comedy tan through the holes in the strap. D'oh.

You're once again welcome!

You're right about it being formulaic, but that kind of works, since these are the myths anyway in in SPN it turns out that they're true. But the arc about the really bad demon and their Dad is really what holds the show forever. (He was so hot when he was possessed, it wasn't right!)

I really hope Papa isn't dead because that would break my heart. He's bloody well been signed to a different show, though. I'm never one to hope good pilots don't make it, but if it means he'll be in SPN more I'd be just as happy if he doesn't get another full time role. Darnit.

A ha ha, comedy tan! I love when that happens. There's always Holiday Skin for emergencies. *g*

*I didn't mean to say 'holds the show forever', I meant 'together'. I'm on a different keyboard and I just type everything wrong!

It does work which is why I've been enjoying it I guess! Although I wouldn't be sad if there was slightly less 'let's salt and burn the bones!' next season. ;)

I don't find Papa Winchester particularly hot normally, but you're right - he was very hot when he was possessed! I will also be upset if he's dead. Even if he's signed on to another show, do you think he'll still have time to come back to do guest spots? I can't see him becoming a proper regular even if he survives as it would break up the Sam and Dean dynamic that the show is based on.

It's faded a bit today but it's still there. I should have taken a picture of it yesterday when it was really bad!

Hahaha, yay! The show was good before but when Papa is around is even better. More angsty oportinities, haha.

Very angsty! I do like the fact that it's based around a family - it's quite a novel thing for that type of show.

Damn, I need some Supernatural icons!
