I got back from Asylum 3 this afternoon and since then I've a) done some washing and b) had a two hour nap. Nice!

Asylum started on Friday but on Thursday I went down for a day in Warwick and stayed with [livejournal.com profile] rivier (thank you again and I've washed my cat trump trousers now! ;)). Had a lovely day wandering around in the lovely sunny weather with [livejournal.com profile] rivier, [livejournal.com profile] niennah and [livejournal.com profile] eviltish.

I had a great weekend at Asylum despite the utterly mad queues. Utterly mad. The queue for registration on Friday was about two and a half hours long and had five parts to it. I should draw a diagram.

I spent most of the weekend hanging around with [livejournal.com profile] emony, [livejournal.com profile] niennah, [livejournal.com profile] jenniebellie and [livejournal.com profile] abydosww which was great. Jared and Jenson were as utterly gorgeous (and HUGE in Jared's case) as you think they'd be. They were only on stage together once which was a bit of a shame but they were great. Misha is also impossibly gorgeous and has an amazing capacity for bullshit! I think he went a little crazy when they left him filling in for Jenson on the stage. Anyway, besides the queues and the ridiculously fast photo shoots, I had a lovely time. Now however, I am quite tired and really not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow...

spn ftw

I watched the Supernatural finale last night.

brief spoilers )

I love this show more and more and I can't wait for next season now. The season one box set has been sitting in Tesco tempting me every time I walk past it...
odycee: (Supernatural - Dean - back)
Dammit! I completely forgot to set SPN to download this morning. I need to write myself a schedule!
odycee: (Supernatural - Sam & Dean - back in town)
I'm in London for two days tomorrow on a medical devices training course. Not the most interesting thing in the world but it should allow me to do some more interesting stuff at work. The upside is that I've got a king sized bed for the night and can charge stuff to the company. The downside is that my taxi to the train station is booked for quarter to six in the morning. That's obscenely early.

Aaaargh. I've just bashed my elbow and it hurts all the way down to my little finger. Ow.

I watched Supernatural. OMG. I love that show. I'm going to have a gruelling download schedule: Supernatural, BSG, Nip/Tuck, Lost and SGA (when it comes back). No wonder I never actually watch TV.

I missed a couple of birthdays - Happy Belated Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] lykaios and [livejournal.com profile] maryavatar!! :D Better late than never, eh? ;)

still here

I am still lurking around and reading and commenting occasionally in case you were wondering. ;) I just haven't felt very talkative recently but I am reading. I soon won't be able to access LJ from work when they take away our old computers and leave us with the posh new machines that go through the new companies servers - they block LJ and gmail!! Very upsetting! I'll just have to abuse my work email instead...

New BSG next week! Hurrah! What day is it on? That ought to fill a little bit of the whole that SGA leaves with its stupid hiatus. And when does Supernatural start again?
odycee: (Supernatural - Dean - back)
You remember how I said I didn't find Jenson Ackles particularly attractive? Pretty, yes, but not 'set your knickers on fire' attractive? Well for some reason, when he has a beard, he totally is. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] meivocis for the link!
odycee: (Mighty Boosh - Vince - you've gone wrong)
I watched the Supernatural finale yesterday. I've watched the whole series in about two weeks! Thanks again for being my dealer, [livejournal.com profile] niannah!

spoilers for SPN 1x22 )

In other news, I hurt all over because I spent the best part of yesterday at the field doing more ragwort spraying. And damn, it was too hot for that. Unfortunately I had my watch on while I was doing it and now I've got a comedy tan through the holes in the strap. D'oh.

I've been having driving lessons for the last few weeks and I had my third one this evening. I had about twenty-five or so lessons five years ago and so I'm slowly remembering what I should be doing now! Of course, when I had my lessons before, it was when I was living in the middle of nowhere near Aberdeen (north-east Scotland) where there was only one set of traffic lights, no roundabouts, no traffic and many one track roads. It's a bit of a shock to the system now to have to dodge parked cars and try and avoid running over idiotic children on bikes. I did my first ever roundabouts today and it wasn't too bad actually (probably because the roads were deserted because everyone bar me was watching the football - the lack of cars on the road was bizarre). I had a moment when I went into fourth instead of second when I was on the roundabout but apart from that it was great.

Wednesday and Thursday next week I'm going on a project management training course with work. I'm very frightened because it's being run by the really scary lady that's made quite a few people resign. I'm just going to try and appear invisible so she doesn't single me out for anything. Then again, she'll probably single me out because I'm trying to appear invisible. Do you think anyone will mind if I take my duvet to hide under?

I bit the bullet and went on ebay the other night to get an electric fence energiser to replace the one that was nicked last weekend. I'm still very pissed off about that. They made up with about £400 worth of stuff. Why are people such shits? People keep asking me if we've got insurance or we're going to get it. I keep explaining that it's very hard to get contents insurance for unoccupied outbuildings (especially when it's an old lorry back and not even made from brick) on land you don't own but no one seems to believe me. If anyone has any suggestions - speak up!

I've only got two episodes left to go of Supernatural season 1 now. I think I may need some icons. But not icons of the episode with the murderous painting because it really freaked me out! I really should stop watching it just as I'm about to go to bed!

Apart from watching Supernatural I've been feeling very disconnected from fandom recently. I've not got much time in the evenings at the moment and there's no new shows on. Are there any fabulous fics that I should have read recently? McKay/Sheppard, Sirius/Remus (I was listening to VAST's 'I Don't Have Anything' song on the way home today and felt all nostalgic for some good old S/R angst fic) or maybe Jared/Jenson?

Why does my internet always die just as I'm about to post?
odycee: (Random - Dilbert - pretending to work)
I'm really struggling to keep up with LJ at the moment. I think it's the time of year - I'm not usually in until seven or eight at night after I've been to the field.

I'm still enjoying Supernatural. Some of the plots are fairly cliched (and I love the imaginative (!) episode titles - Hook Man!) but it's enjoyable nevertheless. I must say I prefer Jared Whateverhisnameis to Jenson Ackles, although yes, they're both quite pretty.

So, you knew it would be coming at some point - SPN RPS. Anyone got anything they want to rec me? :D

I rode for the first time in ages last night after work. It's stupid because I feel like I haven't got the time to ride because there's so much other stuff to do up there - picking up poo, pulling/spraying ragwort, mending fences, checking the electric fence, cutting down the brambles and gorse that keep growing up. And it's just never ending! But what's the point in having the horses if I don't ride? (Not that I can ride Oscar at the moment anyway but that's not the point.)

After we'd ridden we went straight to the pub for something to eat. Unfortunately that meant that we went in our smelly stable clothes! I tried not to let Oscar rub his face on me after his dinner and I almost succeeded. I only has a small patch of bright green grass nuts on my t-shirt.
odycee: (Mighty Boosh - Vince (Noel) - b&w)
I've watched the first five episodes of Supernatural now courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] niannah (and [livejournal.com profile] ispahan). I'm actually really enjoying it even if it is freaking me out a little on occasion! I don't see my self rushing to read any Wincest in the near future, or indeed any Jared/Jenson, but never say never. I still can't remember which one is Sam and which one is Dean, but I do like Jenson Ackles character and I like the fact that they drive around with a boot (trunk) full of weapons in the car! I was pleased to spot Lt. Cadman in that aeroplane episode.

Neil Gaiman has mentioned The Mighy Boosh before in his blog (I think he was watching it with his daughter) and today he tells us that one of them is rumoured to be playing one of the dead princes in the upcoming Stardust film. Awesomeness.

Yesterday morning I went into town for various things and went into the Pier. I got a really nice picture frame and a glass candle holder that holds nine tea lights. I love the stuff in there. I keep being tempted by the gorgeous throws but they're in excess of £100 and I'll only get cats sleeping all over them so there's no point. I was going to ride Kaz in the afternoon yesterday but it would have been too hot for her when I was able to go. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous this weekend but it's not fair to get her lathered up with sweat really. And in case you were wondering, my throat is better again today. Fingers crossed I won't be in for another flare up.
odycee: (Atlantis - Shep/McKay - Aurora - worried)
I try very hard to stay away from spoilers but I've been lured in by the new SGA promo pics from the first three episodes of season 3. I'm especially excited by the episode 3 ones. Awesomeness. I can't wait to see that episode!

[livejournal.com profile] niannah (<3) has sent me the first half of Supernatural season 1, so that will keep me entertained for a while. I don't really know what to expect from it to be honest, but lots of you guys enjoy it so I think it's worth giving it a go. I think I might get a bit frightened! I'm such a wuss.

My throat feels decidedly dodgy again tonight - on the other side than it did last week. I'm going to be most upset if I wake up tomorrow with another monster sore throat so I really hope it goes away over night. *crosses fingers*
