odycee: (Atlantis - Ronon - pissed off)
Today:

- I have no hot water at all. A guy came to 'fix' the heater on Thursday and it worked for a bit and now it's even more broken.
- I have cooked chilli and then dropped half of it onto the oven door. It's one of those ones that opens downwards so there was just a big pile of chilli on there. And in the crack where the door opens. And on the floor. And when I finally finished cleaning it, using teaspoons to get kidney beans out of the crack (and then just my fingers), I shut the door and could see mince and kidney beans inside the door through the glass. Balls. I really didn't feel like eating what was left after that so it's dinner for tomorrow.
- I had a really stupid and pointless day at work.
- I watched the last episode of Atlantis. D:

I think I'm just going to hide in bed with a book and hope that my hair can go another day without washing because I really can't be bothered to a) wash my hair with cold water, or b) go through the rigmarole of filling the bath up with kettles of water.
odycee: (Actor - David Tennant - trust me)
I went to see Hamlet in Stratford on Saturday with my mum and some friends. We booked the tickets a year ago which is a long time to wait but I wasn't disappointed! The worst thing about the whole evening was getting soaked on the way to the theatre and being on the balcony (great seats but blimey, I'm not good with heights and things started to swim in front of my eyes when I first sat down!). The best thing was everything else! Patrick Stewart was great, David Tennant was great and so were the rest of the cast. It was all very impressive. I've never seen Shakespeare at the theatre and it was better than I ever imagined it would be. Funny and sad and thoughtful and full of life.

On a more shallow note, looking down from a height meant that I spotted David Tennants pants on more than one occasion (they were red!) and even glimpsed some of the midriff. Awesome indeed! ;) Also, I was in the same room as Captain Picard!

When we got back from the theatre, we watched Merlin. I'm not sure I could love this show any more than I do right now. I haven't felt this rabidly fannish about something for a long time (I may start foaming at the mouth soon). I want to be all flaily hands and bandom arms about it all the time. \o/ \o/ Certain people on my f-list seem to be filthy enablers - linking to YouTube vids of Colin Morgan holding an edible penis and showing me fabulous newspaper clippings (CAMPALOT and the court of Queen Arthur! indeed).
<-------- Merlin and Arthur ;)
odycee: (Doctor Who - Ten with specs b&w)
So, this week's Doctor Who. It got to about half way through the episode and I thought that I'd got an after-image of a flash of light in my eyes. No. Turns out it was the start of a migraine. I've never had a migraine before and it freaked me out - I asked my mum at one point if David Tennant really did just have one huge eye or if it was just my vision (FYI - it was just my vision, David Tennant actually has two huge eyes). Everything turned into a Picasso painting and then I lost all my peripheral vision in my left eye. I was at my mum and dad's this weekend and luckily (or unluckily for her) my mum has migraines and so realised what was going on. Sod's Law - my vision returned to normal at about the end of the episode (and then the headache started). Needless to say, I need to go on the BBC iplayer to rewatch it all.

Can I take my body back and exchange it for a new one that works?

In other news, I picked a car up today. Yes, I now own a silver 02 reg Ford Ka! Getting the cash out of the bank for that was quite traumatising! I drove it home and it's so easy and nice to drive. I don't think I'm quite ready to drive to work yet though - maybe next week when I've had a bit more time to get used to it.

I do feel very guilty about owning a car (omg! I'm destroying the planet now like everyone else etc.) but I don't think I'll be using it every day to go to work, as what's the point when I can still get a lift in and out of work some days? It will make life a hell of a lot easier though as currently, there's no way for me to get up to the field to do the horses without a lift from someone as it's too far to walk and there are no buses there.

Yay car!

ETA: And also, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Cover Art including the blurbs. Yay!
odycee: (Actor - Robert Pattinson)
- Today, I have mostly been cold.
- I got Oscar a new rug and it didn't fit.
- I love Rodney McKay.
- I don't get paid soon enough for my liking.
- I may have a wee girly crush on Robert Pattinson aka. Cedric Diggory.
- Only a week and a half to go until Serenity2!!
- Work is boring.
- My sources tell me that Remus/Sirius will become canon in the last Harry Potter book and/or Harry will turn out to be the reincarnation of Margaret Thatcher before she's dead.
- I'm going to go and watch Arrested Development now.

And while I'm in a list making mood - that five fictional characters I'd like to punch meme with no thought behind it or explanation whatsoever:

1. Lana Lang from Smallville
2. Worf
3. Buffy (occasionally)
4. Lana Lang (she needs punching twice)
5. Neelix

ICONS!!!!!
