I'm still about, but lurking mostly (obviously!). The job's still making my brain mush and I'm quite knackered but I'm not dead.
Anyway, the main reason I'm posting is because I've just seen Simon Pegg on the Jonathan Ross show and I can't wait to see the new Star Trek film! I really hope it's not crap. I think I've only been to the cinema once this year and that was to see Watchmen. <3
Wow, what a worthwhile post this was! I'm so eloquent after half a bottle of wine...
ETA: I'm just about to watch The Trouble With Tribbles - what a rockin' Friday night! ;)
ETA2: Yes, I did see new Doctor Who and new Red Dwarf. Doctor Who - slightly meh. Not fussed about Eastenders girl but still <3 Ten. Red Dwarf - I surprisingly enjoyed it quite a lot. Huh.
ETA3: I feel like I may dip my toe back into Merlin fic. My toe may rot off with some horrible disease but it would feel good while it's happening.
Apologies folks for the drinking and posting. It's never going to be pretty.

captain's log
Sep. 26th, 2006 11:35 pmI've borrowed the rest of season one of classic Trek from someone at work. I'm enjoying it far more than I should! I'm yet to spot Kirk brandishing any more phallic objects though there was a lovely moment in which Kirk thought Spock was giving him a back massage on the bridge. When it turned out to be a Yeoman he was mightily disappointed. Heh.
I've got to go on a 'team day' with work on Thursday to Lincoln castle. I hope there isn't too much horrendous team building stuff involved. Apparently we have to wear sturdy shoes because there's a lot of walking involved. I don't know why they can't just tell us what we're going to be doing.

Today:
- the toilet started to leak (again) and so we are flushing it with buckets of water (joy).
- I had a driving lesson and got onto the main road and did traffic lights! More traffic lights than I ever did when I was learning up in Scotland because there was only one set!
- I nettled myself on one of those evil little nettles and it still hurts now after eight hours and loads of anti-histamine cream. Bastards.
- I watched an old school episode of Star Trek in which evil!Kirk tries to rape Yeoman Rand. Afterwards she tells good!Kirk that she understood and that she wouldn't have told anyone! What?! Perhaps her beehive hairdo affects her brain. In another Rand related observation, in one episode there's an emergency and Kirk tells her to take the helm and off she goes flying the ship. Now, if she can fly a spaceship, why is she just a yeoman who's sole role seems to be making sure that Kirk eats regularly (and heating hot water with a phaser so she can make coffee for him when the galley has no power)?
