You'll all be pleased to hear that I survived the first day of the course today and it wasn't too bad at all in fact. I began to suspect that my co-worker had been winding me up about it all at about midday today when psycho lady (and despite her acting like a civilised human being today, I know that she isn't like that all the time - far from it) was being nice to everyone - and yes he was exaggerating. The bastard. Someone was late though and they did have to sing. I am getting there absurdly early tomorrow too because there is no way in hell I'm singing in front of a room full of people.

Some links that I've been too busy to post:

- David Tennant as the Doctor picspam: Doctor Who Suitgasm, linked by just about every DW fan on my flist.

- [livejournal.com profile] rossywar makes a convincing case for watching The Mighty Boosh

- [livejournal.com profile] gmth makes a great post which invites people to post about what they've gained and lost by being involved in online fandom: What you've gained, what you've lost. Makes me feel a bit more squishy about fandom after the bad taste that reading all that msscribe stuff left in my mouth.

ETA: And it's mid summer today! Longest day! Now I've just got to look forward to it getting cold and dark again...

I've watched the first five episodes of Supernatural now courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] niannah (and [livejournal.com profile] ispahan). I'm actually really enjoying it even if it is freaking me out a little on occasion! I don't see my self rushing to read any Wincest in the near future, or indeed any Jared/Jenson, but never say never. I still can't remember which one is Sam and which one is Dean, but I do like Jenson Ackles character and I like the fact that they drive around with a boot (trunk) full of weapons in the car! I was pleased to spot Lt. Cadman in that aeroplane episode.

Neil Gaiman has mentioned The Mighy Boosh before in his blog (I think he was watching it with his daughter) and today he tells us that one of them is rumoured to be playing one of the dead princes in the upcoming Stardust film. Awesomeness.

Yesterday morning I went into town for various things and went into the Pier. I got a really nice picture frame and a glass candle holder that holds nine tea lights. I love the stuff in there. I keep being tempted by the gorgeous throws but they're in excess of £100 and I'll only get cats sleeping all over them so there's no point. I was going to ride Kaz in the afternoon yesterday but it would have been too hot for her when I was able to go. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous this weekend but it's not fair to get her lathered up with sweat really. And in case you were wondering, my throat is better again today. Fingers crossed I won't be in for another flare up.

Oh god. Back to work tomorrow for the first time in a week. At least I don't feel like death warmed up any more, though I still don't really feel 100%.

We managed to get some of the ragwort in the field sprayed yesterday. The stuff we've been using is very satisfying as today you can go round the field we did and see that everything we sprayed is brown and crispy and dead. Now we just need to keep the horses off there for about four weeks while all the dead stuff disappears (it's more palatable when dead).

I'm looking after five of my friend's guinea pigs while she's away on holiday this week (and her horse). All I can say is, she'd better be coming to get them as soon as she gets back on Sunday! They're very cute and adorable, but looking after five of them is a bit too much. I quite like having one of the male ones but five of the females - that's a lot of guinea pig poo! At least we haven't had to mow the back garden since we've had them.

I'm trying to resist using a Mighty Boosh icon but I don't think it's working. *breaks out another Vince icon - he's Mowgli in flares!* I want to write a whole post about how fabulous and weird and slashy they are but I'm restraining myself. For the moment...

(The spell check on Semagic doesn't recognise the word slashy! Imagine that!)

ETA: Wow, I just looked at my LJ calendar and I've been even worse than usual than updating this month. Probably a good thing as all you'd've had last week was semi-delusional ramblings!
odycee: (Mighty Boosh - Vince - you've gone wrong)
I feel about 95,000 times better today than I did yesterday. Hurrah. I do feel a bit bad for not going in to work all week so I have to go in on Tuesday even if something savages off my leg (or indeed an arm) tomorrow. I'd better just keep taking the antibiotics and hope for the best.

I have been praying for an end to the wet weather this week so we can get this ragwort in the field sprayed. The weather forecast said it was going to be dry today but as usual, the people in the met office were screwing with us and it rained but I remain hopeful for tomorrow. There was a nice red sky during sunset so that bodes well.

I have watched an obscene amount of TV this week because I couldn't concentrate on much else. The first series of Six Feet Under (which I've always wanted to watch), half of Due South series 1 (<3), the last two episodes of Lost (WTF?!) and many episodes of The Mighty Boosh (with and without commentary). Since Easter when I first discovered The Mighty Boosh I must have seen each episode about 3498753 times (there are only 14). Now I'm going through all the DVD commentaries. Good stuff.

Weekend in Leeds great apart from the dreadful weather. Eurovison very amusing especially after a few drinks. Doctor Who fab. Been off work today with a horrendously sore throat and I feel knackered. Now I'm off to bed - possibly to watch some of the DVD commentary on The Mighty Boosh.

I spent about an hour this morning looking for some nice Mighty Boosh icons. And I found some! I really think I need to make some of my own though.

I bet this company are glad they gave me a pay rise. I'm so productive! Ha ha. Especially when I know that it's Friday, I'm leaving a bit early to get the train and I'm going up to Leeds. Yayness. Back on Sunday!
