the order of the phoenix

I went to see The Order of the Phoenix last night. I loved it. Yes, they cut lots of stuff out and yes, it wasn't as good as the Prisoner of Azkaban but I did love it. All the kids were great, especially Dan Radcliffe. At some points in the film he looked a lot older that Harry should and the rest of the time he was just Harry. I could have done without Grawp, but then I've never been a big Hagrid fan. Umbridge was fantastic - the bit with Fred and George and the little kid just made my skin crawl. I was a little disappointed with the Twin's exit - there wasn't really much mayhem at all really - mostly just fireworks. Bellatrix was suitably maniacal! Does Helena Bonham-Carter ever play anything but crazy people with mad hair?

Sirius/Remus - still my OTP of all time. Remus got very little screen time, but whatever he did have, he was glued to Sirius which was lovely! Gary Oldman was fabulous as Sirius right up until the end. I was very amused by a) his dog fur pimp coat that he had on in the train station after he'd transformed, and b) him punching Lucius in the face. Hurrah. Blink-and-you'll-miss-it award goes to Snape's Worst Memory - at least it wasn't cut completely though.

Overall great, but whatever we got, I'd still want more Marauders! I think I need to go and read some S/R to tide me over to next weekend!

Yes, I agree with all of the above. That little detail with the Twins and the little boy crying was really well done. And re Helena Bonham-Carter, I think the answer is no. That is definitely her thing.

The dog fur pimp coat was hilarious. And I did love that morph behind the glass. I think Gary Oldman was so good as Sirius, the winking and the smiling, he was great. And the Sirius/Remus, while there was very little of it, was so there!

Yeah, it's a shame Snape's Worst Memory was so short. I really wanted to see the faces of the Young Marauders, but there wasn't time to see anyone but James properly.

Anyway, on the whole, loved it. And going to see it again tomorrow. :)

I now need to focus on everyone who is not James in Snape's worst memory. It was longer than my flist had caused me to expect, but still SO Short.

the pimp coat was most excellent (bonus that it gave us lots more time with the tattoos). And I loved that Sirius and Remus were right there almost on top of each other so much of the time (considering how much time Remus was actually there anyway). I'm really hoping the movie nets us more lovely Remus/Sirius fics. That would make me v. happy.

Pretty sure that crazed lunatic is really Helena Bonham-Carter's main flavor. She really does it so well.

I wanted more mayhem from the twins' rebellion. More rebellion from the whole school really. Umbridge was spot on, but much more bearable in movie format because it got time truncated. I loathed that character so very very much in the book OMG.

in conclusion: there should be more with the puppies. because yis
