(no subject)

I haven't been to work today and surprisingly I wasn't skiving. When I went down to the field this morning to turn the horses out, Champ, our old pony, was down in the stable. He was obviously in a lot of pain with colic and we got the vet out. She gave him some painkillers and he seemed to perk up after a while and was no longer getting down to roll. He's had some more painkillers since then and we've got to go back at nine o'clock tonight to see if he's okay and give him more medication if necessary. He's no spring chicken at 28 and I'm just hoping that he'll be okay.

Stupid animals. I wouldn't give them all up for the world but life would be a lot easier and cheaper without them.
