an exciting update on my exciting life
Jan. 15th, 2008 10:28 pmNew week, new pump in the boiler and new wireless router.
The wireless works fine now (after I spent two hours cursing on Saturday morning trying to get the router to connect to the internet) for the first time since I moved into the flat - it didn't hurt that I also reformatted my laptop on Saturday as well and now it always picks up a signal.
The boiler - almost works. I can have a shower at least, but it's still not quite right. I need to get an electrician back in as I think there's something wrong with the circuit board. Gah! Why is nothing ever easy?! Ah well. At least I'm half way there.
As for fannish pursuits: Only one day to go until new Torchwood now!! Very exciting! And I continue to enjoy this series of Atlantis - I've had a resurgence of Atlantis fic reading which always happens when I'm enjoying the show.
I've just checked the weather on the BBC website to check that Hull isn't going to disappear under flood water again. It took me a while to realise that it had set my home town to be Easington. Where the hell is Easington? Very strange. I had got the canoe ready outside the window of my flat but luckily, you'll be glad to know, it seems that I won't disappear under flood water (and neither, apparently, will Easington).
